What you can expect from this site — and the important limits of what we provide.
About this site
Pulse of Prevention is a youth-led prevention initiative connected to the Forsyth County Drug Awareness Council. This site shares prevention education, connects people to support and free resources, and invites people to take part in programs and events.
Educational information, not medical advice
Content here is for general education and awareness. It is not medical, legal, or clinical advice, and not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you read here.
Counseling, peer support & treatment referral
Our support services connect you with licensed or certified counselors, trained peer supporters, or — for referrals — outside providers and directories. Pulse of Prevention does not provide licensed clinical treatment, does not guarantee any outcome or provider acceptance, and is not responsible for services delivered by independent counselors, peer supporters, or partners. None of these services are for emergencies.
Free supplies
Deterra bags and naloxone are offered free while supplies last, subject to availability and service area. We can't guarantee delivery times or quantities. Always follow the instructions with any product and the guidance of a pharmacist or healthcare provider.
Youth participation & parental consent
Many programs involve minors. Participation by anyone under 18 requires a parent or guardian in enrollment. Story submissions from minors require parent or guardian consent before we consider them for publication.
Story submissions
Submitting a story does not guarantee publication. We review submissions and publish only with the storyteller's permission. Please don't include private, identifying details about other people without their consent. See the Share Your Story page for full consent terms.
External links & embedded content
We link to trusted outside resources and embed YouTube videos. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices. Links are provided for convenience, not as an endorsement of everything on the linked site.
Our network & referral partners
We work with a growing network of independent organizations, listed on our Our Network page. Each organization named — partner or referral — operates independently of Pulse of Prevention and the Forsyth County Drug Awareness Council. A listing describes a relationship; it is not a guarantee of that organization's services, and does not mean they endorse us or vice versa. When we share your information with a partner at your request, that organization's own practices apply once they receive it.
Employment, mentorship & treatment referrals
These services connect you with volunteer mentors, partner employers, or outside providers. We do not guarantee a job offer, a mentor match, or acceptance by any provider, and are not responsible for the services, employment terms, or care delivered by a third party we refer you to.
Acceptable use
Please use this site lawfully and respectfully. Don't misuse our forms, submit false information, or attempt to disrupt the site or access data that isn't yours.
Limitation of liability
We work hard to keep information accurate, but provide this site "as is" without warranties. To the extent allowed by law, Pulse of Prevention and the Forsyth County Drug Awareness Council are not liable for losses arising from use of this site or reliance on its content.
